Memorial Day on Intrepid - May 27, 2013

Memorial Day weather was warm and comfortable for the hundreds of people who attended the annual Memorial Day Ceremony on the Pier.  Fleet Week was canceled this year due to the Government Sequester, therefore there were fewer military there to be honored.  But they were uppermost in all minds as wreaths were tossed overboard, taps played, rifles shot, and prayers said for those who were lost in defense of freedom.  Here are some of the photos .. (Click on any to enlarge).

National Recording artist Ayla Brown sang for the crowd.

Hundreds of people turned out to pay their respects.

The 100' American flag filled the pier, lined with current and veteran military.
