Glen Rock's Fourth of July Parade

This morning, I was out photographing the Glen Rock 4th of July Parade for Patch.com.  Here are a few of the images ..

Each of these costumes were hand sewn!

Glen Rock is such a family-friendly town!

Glitter the Clown greeted all the kids along the route.

The scene on Rock Road Wednesday morning.  It seems as if the whole town turned out to see the parade.

Early summer birds in our yard

With our two bird feeders, four bird houses and bird bath, we support a large avian community, as well as many squirrels and chipmunks and the occasional raccoon and skunk.  Here are a few photos taken this morning.

This little house wren was busy adding sticks to his "Hippie House" to impress his mate.

Here he is, looking up at his newly adopted bird house.

This Titmouse and his/her mate were busy at the eaves of our garage, possibly nest-building.

Camping with friends up at Lake George

Beautiful Lake George is a wonderful spot for photos and especially those of friends having fun.  Here are a few from our recent trip.

I stitched together 5 photos to create this panorama.  Our friends are in the kayaks.

Love those "on the road" shots.  Here we are, heading up to Rogers Rock. We have our canoe on top of the car.

The light inside a tent is always so warm.

Colorful kayaks and our canoe provide a nice foreground to the Lake.

Used a small softbox over the flash to give soft, even lighting to this photo of my husband and a fish he caught from the boat launch.

Wyckoff Cruise-In photos: "Every Car Tells a Story"

Catching up on blog posts today.  These photos are from June 20 at the "cruise-in" in Wyckoff, shot for Patch.com.  (Click to enlarge any photo).  Many of these cars have fascinating stories .. Two were used in the Mets ticker tape parade in 1986, one riding Howard Johnson, another, baseball great Keith Hernandez.  Another car is owned by the co-writer of the hit "Short Shorts".  Another car was featured in two calendars. This Mustang drove Keith Hernandez in the 1986 Mets ticker tape parade.

This Cobra was made in South Africa, but the glove box is signed by Carroll Shelby.

This beauty is owned by Tom Austin, drummer for the 1956-1965 group "The Royal Teens" and co-writer of the 1957 hit "Short Shorts". Click here to read all about it.

Patch.com shoot on Saturday June 10

Saturday was a busy day shooting for several Patch.com sites throughout Bergen County.  The day started early, covering the "Wheels for Meals" event up in Rockleigh.  Click here for link to Patch.com photos and article.  (Click on any photo to enlarge).

From Rockleigh, I was called to cover a kitchen fire in Westwood ...

Intrepid employee group shot in front of Enterprise

Space Shuttle Enterprise Arrives at Intrepid

Captured 7 consecutive shots to create this panorama of the throngs of people on the pier who waited hours for the entire Shuttle operation to be completed.

The Shuttle was welcomed aboard her new home at Intrepid on Wednesday, as she made her way up the Hudson, surrounded by a flotilla of Police and Coast Guard boats and private vessels.  The banks of the River on both the NJ and NY sides were thronged with people enjoying the sight of this beautiful space craft being slowly towed upriver to the Flight Deck. I was honored to be chosen to photograph the event for Intrepid.

Quite a spectacle!  Helicopters overhead, international coverage.

Crews working to affix the bright yellow harness to the sides of the Enterprise. After the harness was attached, the crane lifted it slowly off the ground and rotated it to the right and onto the Flight Deck.

She's home!

The crews of Bay Crane and Weeks Marine working together with members of United Space Alliance are shown with Matt Woods, EVP of Operations, and Susan Marenoff-Zausner, President of Intrepid.

 My husband, Eric Boehm, Curator of Aviation and Aircraft Restoration, welcoming the Enterprise ..
He and his team will now be responsible for her upkeep.  Quite an honor!
